Many people worry about scorpions climbing up walls. Any rough surface, a scorpion has little trouble climbing, but they can't get any kind of grip on smooth materials.
Scorpions can climb anything with a rough surface. They have little pincers on the end of their feet known as ungues. If the surface is smooth however, like glass or plastic, they can't grip it. Even a smooth metal won't allow them to be able to climb.
Placing the feet of your children's crib or bed into glass jars will keep scorpions from climbing into the bed.
