Crickets in Albuquerque

Crickets are small to medium-sized insects with mostly cylindrical, slightly vertical flattened bodies. More than 900 species of crickets have been spotted around the world. Most male crickets make a shrill chirping noise by stridulation (scraping two specially textured limbs together). Many types of cricket songs are in the stock of some species. The calling song attracts females and repels other males, and is relatively loud.
