Well most black widows are somewhat reclusive in nature, they are not aggressive, and they are web-dwelling spiders. You are most likely going to find them outdoors, around the sheds, in wood piles, sometimes you will actually find them in tree stumps, and in bark of tree, under rocks. Their webs are erratic, they are very strong, you can find them usually in corners. In the home you will most likely find them in garages or in attics, not usually something you are going to see out in the open.
