Transcript from Identifying Black Widows and Black Widow Spider Webs

Bulwark Exterminating Spider Control Professional: "And if you look around the house, you’ve got these spider webs right here that are super tough, and they’re so tough that they’ll catch leaves and, you can identify these spider webs as black widow webs because of the durability of them. See how it doesn’t even break it?" "So, the other thing about these webs, these black widow spider webs, is that they are chaotic in nature, just in disarray, so you can tell they’re different from your other spiders, like your funnel spiders or your orb spiders that have patterns to their webs." "As far as black widows biting you, they’re really not that aggressive. If you come around their nest and you play around with their, the web, they will come out and they will attack you in thinking you’re food or if you’re threatening their egg sacks." "But, in general, black widows are not that aggressive. They more just sit and wait for their prey to come to them. But, if you do get bit by a black widow, a child is in danger. Most adults it would probably just put you in bed for a couple of days. So, but I wouldn’t advise getting bit, though." - Bulwark Exterminating Spider Control

You know I have been bragging about how well my pest control company has been about keeping my home scorpion free for years. We went from 3 a month to 0 per year... unfortunately this year broke the record and we found 2 scorpions in our home upstairs. I was a little disappointed. When they called to schedule my appointment I told them about my scorpion troubles. The said they would tell the tech. To my pleasant surprise, the tech came prepared. He was aware of my needs and wants and quickly set about doing his work. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure we were satisfied. Thanks Brian. It's funny that I rarely see Bulwark or notice them when they come out to spray. Its like they are constantly working behind the curtains with no glamor, glitter, or spot lights on them. I mean, pest control doesn't seem all that sexy of a job. In fact I think it was on the dirtiest job show a while back. But Bulwark really does deserve some spot light and show time. They are extremely clean and professional. I am not happy that I saw a scorpion in my house again, but I am happy that I was reminded of how well this company takes care of me. And for the record, I would take 1 scorpion a year over 3 a month any day. Hopefully it will be another at least another 2 years before I see another one inside. Thanks again Brian B. for being an exceptional technician.
