I am glad I called Bulwark for my roach and spider problem back in 2005. We initially had a stubborn roach infestation and we tried to handle it ourselves with over the counter pesticides. Unfortunately, we got no where. We then turned to Bulwark. Our technician Ed Sakugawa came by on a regular basis to ensure these pest were no longer an issue... We had the service for about a year or two and then we stopped thinking, hey we do not have bugs so we do not need the service. Yeah, we did not have bugs for a few months, but then we were back to where we started. I did not hesitate in calling Bulwark again and request for Mr. Sakugawa. Mr. Sakugawa is very attentive to our needs and is very courteous. With his service on a regular basis, I know we do not have to worry about bugs at my house.‎

Fall is finally here, and it seems like much of the Valley is coming out of its heat induced coma. Valley residents are out and about; riding bikes, hiking, and taking their dogs for long walks while enjoying the cool crisp fall weather. Our outdoor activity has increased due to the cooler weather, as has the bug activity. With this increase in bug activity in the Phoenix, particularly with ants and scorpions, the local media turns to the pest management professionals at Bulwark Exterminating for some answers. Phoenix’s ABC-15 speaks with Bulwark’s Thomas Ballantyne and watches as Bulwark technician Adele Shields treats an ant infested yard here in Phoenix.

ABC-15 In Phoenix Turns To Bulwark About Influx Of Cold Weather Bugs

Why Do We See An Influx Of Pests When The Weather Cools?

It’s natural to begin to see more pests when the weather cools, not only in your home but around your yard as well. Just because you are seeing a few more pests, doesn't mean you are dealing with a full-blown infestation. Just like you and me, pests do not like cold weather. The cooler fall months are used by the pests to prepare for the cold winter months. Pests like scorpions, do not do well exposed to the winter elements. During the fall, they are actively feeding, preparing for the winter, and enter our homes looking for refuge. When in an exposed environment, pests will actually hibernate to survive the frigid temperatures. Those that find themselves in a protected space, such as an insulated attic or in a box in the garage, may never experience enough cold to trigger their internal clocks to notify them to start the hibernation process. If this happens you may see them throughout much of the winter. If you are seeing pests like ants, scorpions, roaches, or spiders in your Valley home this fall, call Bulwark Exterminating today!
