Anytime you live next to a open field, a golf course or a lake you get a lot of little spiders ballooning over to your house they spin a little web in the wind when their babies and the wind picks up that web and carries it to the high tree or to your house where they’ll attach to your house and start to thrive. Eventually they grow up in a way and this is what we have here we have five egg sacs each containing about two hundred ends so while the problem did not originate here they got here and now they’re laying eggs directly on your wall, problem is that these egg sacs, hatch they’re gonna find a way in this window from small cracks or crevices and pressure inside your home.

Phoenix, AZ—A study conducted by The University of Phoenix has found, that during an average night’s sleep, some 300 microscopic scorpions unknowingly crawl across your face, neck, and body as you slumber.

These microscopic scorpions, which look a lot like lint when bunched together, are confined to the State of Arizona; but researchers fear outbreaks in Texas, and isolated parts of Nevada and Southern Utah are inevitable.

It’s important to note that these microscopic scorpions cannot sting humans, unlike their cousin the Bark Scorpion. Their stingers are simply too small.

The University of Phoenix’s lead entomologist, a Klaus Meine, issued the following statement regarding the microscopic scorpions:

“As you sleep, you become a virtual playground for these creeping pests just mere minutes after you fall asleep; inhaling dozens of the scorpions and swallowing at least 20 during an eight-hour period.”

It gets worse. Meine added,

“While these microscopic scorpions are drawn to the moist and humid areas of the nose and mouth, they will also spend each night birthing hundreds of their young in and around your armpits.”

There is one surefire way to tell if you have a microscopic scorpion infestation, Meine continued.

“Like all other scorpions, these microscopic scorpions give live birth. Victims who suffer from a microscopic scorpion infestation will awaken with scorpion afterbirth in their bed sheets. It’s about this time a victim should know they are not alone in bed.”

At this time homeowners in Arizona, Texas, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah should be on high alert. There is no known cure for the microscopic scorpions, as this is a new report.

*** Update: The Horrifying Truth About Microscopic Scorpions

The truth is, microscopic scorpions are not real, and according to this report, we do not swallow scorpions, spiders, or any other insect while we sleep.

The next time you see a spider in your shower, be prepared. Have a surefire plan of attack. The following methods are your best weapons to combat an unsightly spider found hiding inside your home.

10. Firearm

If you want an effective way to kill a spider, a firearm will get the job done. A .44 caliber Ruger should do the trick.

9. Call Chuck Norris

The truth is, you don’t need a firearm to kill a spider… Chuck Norris is an equally efficient killing machine!

8. Play Carly Rae Jepsen’s, “Call Me Maybe”

If you see a dangerous spider in your home, take the following preventative steps:

Step 1: Put in earplugs.

Step 2: Turn on the radio and find Carly Rae Jepsen’s, “Call Me Maybe.” With as much airplay as that song gets, it should be easy to find playing on some station.

Step 3: Point the speakers in the spider’s direction and watch as it instantly falls to it’s death.

Note: Playing anything by Justin Bieber is also equally effective.

7. Hairspray

When you see a spider running across your ceiling, grab the nearest can of hairspray. Enough of the sticky spray will freeze that spider in it’s tracks. Even if it doesn’t kill it; the spider will still have great hair.

6. Eat The Spider

A delicious way to kill a spider, assuming the spider is not dangerous, is to eat it. Marinade the spider with some garlic, thyme, olive oil and cayenne pepper; then toss it with some garden fresh arugula. Enjoy!

Many cultures regularly eat spiders, scorpions, and other insects.

5. Smash Spider In An Oreo Cookie

When that unsightly spider is running across your kitchen counter-top, grab your nearby bag of Oreo cookies. Take an Oreo apart, and quickly smash the spider in the Oreo’s cream. On top of killing the spider, you’ll also gain internet fame when you post a photo online claiming that you found the spider inside.

Read more about the Oreo Spider here: http://blogpestcontrol.com/2013/03/spider-found-in-oreo-real-or-fake/

4. Good Old Fashion Boot

You see a spider running across your bedroom floor and you freeze. Don’t panic– Now’s the time to react quickly. A thick-soled, steel toed boot is your best ally at this point. Slip it on, and stomp. Keep stomping! Twenty or thirty times should be efficient.

If you want to try a different strategy with the boot, and have good aim, throw the boot at the spider and run!

3. Make The Spider Sit Through A Phoenix Suns Game

WARNING: Watch a Phoenix Suns game at your own risk… Viewer discretion is advised.

If you want the spider to suffer a slow and painful death, subject the spider to a 2013 Phoenix Suns basketball game. One half of inept basketball should be enough to put the spider out of it’s misery.

2. Flamethrower

If you want an effective way to kill a spider, a flamethrower is one of your best bets. Even though you may risk burning your house to the ground, you know that spider is not coming out of it alive.

1. Get Bulwark’s Spider Control

A surefire way to kill a spider, and keep them from ever entering your home in the first place, is to hire Bulwark Pest Control.

*** Disclaimer***

Bulwark Exterminating does not recommend the shooting of spiders with firearms, treating them with a flamethrower, or eating them with arugula. Watch a Phoenix Suns game at your own risk… Viewer discretion is advised.

In some cases, like those of the Black Widow or Brown Recluse, spiders can be dangerous. Avoid striking a venomous spider. Doing so may simply knock them to the floor, where they can easily escape. The spider may also fall onto your hand or another part of your body and bite.

This Halloween, as you’re carving your jack-o-lanterns and handing out trick-or-treat candy to all of those ghouls, ghosts, goblins and princesses knocking on your door, be on the look out for a spider… It just might be one of your dead relatives dropping by to wish you well.

According to superstition, if you see a spider on Halloween it’s the spirit of a deceased loved one watching over you.

My question is, “How do you distinguish between a spider that is possessed, and one that isn’t?”

Here Are 10 Indicators That a Spider is Possessed by a Deceased Relative:

1. If you catch a spider making a turkey sandwich, it’s likely your Uncle Mort. Non-possessed spiders will stick to eating crickets, beetles, and other insects.

2. If the spider is trying to put a VHS cassette in your Blu-Ray player, it just might be your deceased mother trying to get you to watch The Sound of Music for the 50th time.

3. If you get a politically charged email forwarded to you by a spider this Halloween, that makes absolutely no sense, it’s just your deceased Aunt Sherry. Everybody knows real spiders are non-partisan. It’s the many blood suckers that are poly-tick-al.

4. If there is a message written in the spider’s web, it’s a dead relative seeking poetic justice… Or Charlotte, who’s also dead.

5. If you see a spider crawling on the ceiling, and it’s head starts spinning around like something straight out of The Exorcist movie, it’s definitely possessed. While spiders do crawl on ceilings, their heads will not spin around.

6. If you walk into your living room, and a spider is playing Neil Diamond’s Forever In Blue Jeans on repeat, it’s just your father who recently passed away. A real spider would be listening to Spiderwebs by No Doubt.

7. If a spider remarks, “When I was your age I had to walk to school, uphill both ways, IN THE SNOW,” it must be Grandpa. A real spider would either die off or hibernate during the snowy winter months.

8. If you walk by a spider this Halloween, and it says BOO, it’s likely cousin Sal. A real spider is scary enough and wouldn’t need to say BOO!

9. If you go to squash a mustached spider this Halloween, and it begins talking back to you, it’s Uncle Bobby! See for yourself in this video:

10. If you are a Bulwark Exterminating customer, and you see a spider in your home, you better believe it’s the spirit of a loved one watching over you… No real spider could ever get through our barrier.

Biting Spiders

One of the most feared pests we treat here at Bulwark Exterminating is the spider! Whether you live in Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA spiders are a part of your lives. They build webs around your property, and enter your home looking for insects to eat. Because of poisonous spiders like the Brown Recluse and the Black widow, spiders have a bad rap. This is unfortunate because spiders are rather timid creatures that will only bite if provoked or if they need to defend themselves. Unfortunately, spiders do bite. Some are poisonous.

How do you know if you are bitten by a spider? Is the spider dangerous? How do you treat a spider bite?

Identifying Common Spiders

Note: The Hobo Spider is no longer considered as dangerous as the Black Widow or Brown Recluse

Identifying Spider Bites

If you believe you have been bitten by a spider, look for a few of these symptoms:

A raised bump or blister, or cluster of bumps or blisters, on the skin.

A red ring surrounding the above mentioned bump or blister.

Two holes or fang marks at the top of the bump.

Inflammation around the suspected bite.

Discoloration (black, brown, yellow, blue, or purple) of the skin near the suspected bite.

Discolored discharge coming from the suspected bite.

Pain, muscle spasms, nausea, or vomiting after the being bitten.

Black Widow Bites

Black widow spider bites may cause a sharp, shooting pain throughout an appendage, or they can also be painless and go unnoticed. Look for the above mention symptoms, as well as severe muscle cramps or spasms, nausea, vomiting, seizure, and an increase in blood pressure. The tissue around the bite will begin to die and appear rotten.

Brown Recluse Bites

A Brown Recluse bite is often painless. You will notice a reddening of the skin which will eventually turn white. The bite will develop a red bull’s eye and then blister. At this point the bite can begin to become painful. Skin tissue will begin to turn purple, brown, black, or blue. The discolored area will begin oozing a discharge as well. These bites can be deadly in rare cases.

Spider Bite Treatment

Identify the spider. If possible, identify the spider that bit you. Medical care may be required for Black Widow and Brown Recluse spider bites. You may need to bring the spider with you to the hospital if you need medical attention.

Stay calm. It’s normal to panic when you have been bitten by a spider. Remaining calm helps to decrease your blood pressure and heart rate which may already be on the rise due to the possibility of spider venom. Keeping your blood pressure and heart rate down limits the spread of the spider’s venom throughout the rest of your body.

Seek medical care. If the spider that bit you has been identified as a Black Widow or Brown Recluse, head to the nearest hospital immediately. Treatment for black widow spider bites may require anti-venom medication. Medical professionals often use medications to treat brown recluse bites as well. Some spider bites may require a tetanus shot.

Clean the bite. Clean the infected area where the spider bit you with soap and warm water. You may also want to use an antiseptic like Bactine, hydrogen peroxide or iodine to clean the wound.

Elevate the area. If a spider has bitten you, a good way to prevent swelling and slow the spread of venom is to keep the bitten limb elevated. For a brown recluse or black widow spider bite, tie a towel above the bite to prevent the venom from reaching your heart and other vital organs.

Apply an ice pack. After being stung by a scorpion, you will likely experience some pain and inflammation around the affected area. Applying an ice pack or cold compress will minimize these side effects.

Take a pain reliever. Alleviate non-dangerous spider bite symptoms with a pain reliever like Tylenol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other acetaminophen. Antihistamines may also be beneficial.

Spider Control

Spider bites can be frightening, painful, and even deadly on rare occasion. You do not want them in your basements, garages, tool sheds, or inside your home. If you want to get rid of your spiders then you need to get more then just general pest control, get spider control!
Often times people wonder how those little tiny spiders get inside their house. The kind that run all over the place at night or in the morning time or on the grass when you are mowing your yard and those little spiders that run in front of your lawnmower in spring this is the process of infestations usually it starts the winter before were spiders like this one, a mother wolf spider will pull up against the house for the warmth that the foundation is actually giving off. If we look carefully we can see her nest underneath the siding of the home as we see here and that tunnel entrance now she doesn’t lay a web down to catch insects she runs down other insects so she comes out here in hunts and goes into the wall and haunts insects but because her lair is up in the wall when her eggs hatch they’ll go in the crawl space for further into the house giving you pressure in the spring.

With Halloween fast approaching, all of us are getting into the Halloween spirit. Retail stores are stocked full of costumes and candy, the television networks are airing scary movies, and our neighbors are decorating their homes with all sorts of spooky decorations. Among the creepiest of Halloween decorations, is of course, the SPIDER. The spider is a staple in Halloween lore. Their menacing appearance, and their ability to bite the unsuspecting, make them one of the most feared pests come Halloween.

Which house was your favorite? If you have any spooky spider decorations in your neighborhood, we would love to see them!

Spider Control

These ten houses decorated for Halloween look like a lot of fun, a few even gave me a good laugh. One thing that is not a laughing matter, is a real spider infestation. Most spiders are hunters equipped with fangs and poisonous venom. The black widow and recluse spiders have very toxic venom that can be life threatening to humans. They should not be treated lightly even if their venom is not lethal. Spider bites are very painful and may cause health concerns. If you are seeing real spiders in or around your property, get spider control to ensure you have a happy and safe Halloween.

Happy Halloween form all of us at Bulwark Exterminating!

Mesa Pest Control

Bulwark Exterminating proudly serves the valley of the sun. One of our branch locations is Mesa, AZ. Arizona has hot summers so pests are going to go inside of homes seeking a cooler place to live. Mesa residents are also constantly building new homes and new sprinkler systems to water their lawns. This provides new water sources for pests to thrive. Bulwark is here to provide a quality solution with a money-back guarantee.

Mesa Pests

Pests to look out for include: scorpions, roaches, spiders, ants and bed bugs. Scorpions are deadly to small infants and the elderly, and their bites hurt. Cockroaches smell and carry diseases wherever they go. Arizona is home to the black widow spider, the deadliest spider in North America. Ants infest by the thousands, with queens laying eggs everyday. Inspecting your home for bed bugs is a must… Nobody wants the bed bugs to bite.

Las Vegas Pest Control

Bulwark Exterminating operates nationwide with one of the major branch locations being Las Vegas, NV. Not only do we provide pest control for Vegas, but the surrounding areas as well. In Vegas there are hot summers and moderate winters, making it ideal for pests to come and thrive–Not to mention the fact that construction and landscaping increases water and food sources for these pesky invaders. In order to prevent them from destroying your home you need a pest control service that you can trust.

Las Vegas Pests

Common pests in Nevada include ants, spiders, roaches, scorpions and crickets. The red imported fire ants are small, but they have large colonies and they cause huge amounts of damage. Black Widows and Wolf Spiders can be found in Nevada. The Black Widow is the most dangerous in North America, and the Wolf Spider is very aggressive when they feel threatened. Oriental cockroaches, or water bugs, live in unsanitary conditions causing health problems. Nevada is home to both your average scorpion and the whip-tail scorpion. The scorpion sting is poisonous but the whip-tail scorpion only shoots out vinegar as a defense mechanism and they are not true scorpions. House crickets are well-associated with their chirping sounds that keep people up at night.

Bulwark Pest Control
