- Anthony B.Marine Sgt. Robert Bruce I would like to pay tribute to Marine Sgt. Robert Bruce. Robert’s family lived next door to me, from the time he was born until graduating from high school and joined the Marines. In March of 2011, Robert was on his 4th deployment in Afghanistan. While on patrol one marine stepped on an IED, Robert went to help him and triggered another. The explosion amputated both of his legs from the knees down. With multiple surgeries and rehab Robert is able to walk again with the help of prosthetics. I have always respected and admired those that serve for our country, but until then I didn’t realize what the men and women that serve are willing to endure to protect us. Thank you all, for your service and dedication.

When it comes to protecting and defending our land, you are the only ones to raise a brave hand.
You leave your own families, you leave us all. To fight for our freedom and answer that call.
You march onto the battlefield with your heads held high. Your gleaming weapons ready and the flag pointed towards the sky.
Some may ask, "How do you fight? I would just run away and hide." The simple answer is, God is on our side.
So we know whenever we come to war, we can count on you to defend us just as before.
God gave you strength, bravery, and trust. He gave you the courage to save all of us.
